Students start by immersing themselves in everyday vocabulary. By the end of the year, they’ll be adept at expressing simple ideas in concise sentences. They will develop an authentic accent and a profound awareness of Latin culture, enriching their perspectives and enhancing critical thinking skills. They’ll explore a range of practical topics, including greetings, colors, numbers, family, opposites, verbs, weather, food, and more. Each subject is complemented with functional and practical sentence structures for effective language acquisition.

Skill Level: Your child knows the practical everyday vocabulary covered in Beginners 1.

Students will continue to enhance their foundational skills, expand their vocabulary, and combine their words to articulate simple thoughts effectively in and outside class. They will construct more elaborate and detailed sentences.

Additionally, they will learn common language structures in Spanish, such as ‘I have/I don’t have…’, ‘I like/I don’t like…’, ‘I am/I am not…’, encouraging conversations about everyday life situations.

Skill Level: Your child possesses an extensive everyday vocabulary, fluently speaks sentences of at least 6-7 words, and comprehends all Spanish spoken in class

 Building upon their existing vocabulary and knowledge, students will incorporate new adjectives, nouns, and verbs to actively engage in class conversation. Additionally, essential reading and writing skills will be introduced.

Skill Level: Your child knows practical vocabulary about many subjects enabling them to express fluently simple ideas in 7-10-word sentences to converse.

Students build on prior Spanish knowledge, expanding vocabulary, mechanics, refining fluency and accent while expressing detailed sentence structures. Activities and games introduce them to new action verbs and easy conjugations in diverse subjects. There is a continued focus on reading and writing skills.

Skill Level: Your child is proficient in conversing about their everyday life in Spanish.

Building on this foundation, students will focus on refining language mechanics, mastering a rich vocabulary, and learning new skills to express ideas with more detail. Additionally, they'll practice reading and writing, crafting simple sentences and short paragraphs to articulate their thoughts and ideas. This level aims to further develop their language skills and confidence in Spanish communication.

Skill Level: Your child is enrolled in a bilingual school or speaks Spanish at home.

Our curriculum focuses on expanding their vocabulary, peer and teacher interaction for speaking practice and fluency, and developing reading and writing skills.

Skill Level: Your child has an extensive vocabulary, can easily converse about everyday situations, and read and write Spanish sentences to express their ideas and thoughts among their peers.

Students will continue to build upon their already strong foundation by learning new topics, structures, and action verbs, while continuing to practice easy conjugations. Additionally, we will prioritize fluency and accent improvement, with conversation as our main focus.
